Growing up in Bedford, New Hampshire, Dr. Monteith has lived all over the US. She attended University of Vermont for undergrad, and University of Pennsylvania for veterinary school. Fun fact, UPenn veterinary graduates obtain a VMD or “Veterinariae Medicinae Doctoris”, which is the Latin of DVM (Doctor of Veterinary Medicine) that the rest of the veterinary schools in the US provide.
“I love meeting new pets and people, and establishing meaningful relationships,” she said about her favorite parts of veterinary medicine. “I especially love when I am able to bring comfort to animals in times of need, and to help owners understand and achieve the quality care that they want for their loved ones!”
Dr. Monteith moved to Oregon in 2024 and joined BFPC in 2025. She currently has a “sweet tuxedo cat, Winky, who I raised as a bottle baby along with his siblings”. When not providing amazing medical care, she enjoys hiking, rock climbing, running, cooking, painting, and making pottery.
