Temporary Phone Service Interruption Notice
Over the next two weeks, Comcast will be performing service work that may cause intermittent phone outages at our clinic. During this time, calls may occasionally disconnect, or it may appear that the phone is ringing even though our team is unable to answer.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding as Comcast completes these upgrades.
If you are unable to reach us by phone, please feel free to email us (staff.bfpc@gmail.com) or submit a request through our website, and we'll respond as soon as possible.
If your pet is experiencing a medical emergency and you are unable to reach us,
please seek immediate veterinary care by contacting one of the following emergency hospitals:

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued trust as we work through these temporary service interruptions.

Dr. Katherine Weitzel - Veterinarian

Dr. Katherine Weitzel

Dr. Katherine Weitzel grew up in Kent, WA and attended Washington State for undergraduate degree in Biology (with a minor in Fine Arts!) and then went on to graduate from WSU’s veterinary college in 2010.

She has practiced in Colorado, Washington, and Oregon, joining Bethany Family Pet Clinic in March 2026. She loves preventive medicine and helping clients and their pets have positive experiences during their time with us.

“I was able to experience mixed animal medicine (small and large animals) and small animal intensive care during vet school, and decided that small animal general practice was what I enjoyed most,” she shares. “I love helping pet parents find ways to improve their pets’ lives and keep them as healthy and happy as possible in ways that are practical in each unique situation!”

She married her “best friend” and husband, J.D., during vet school. They have 3 active girls, one chatty cat named Ember, 2 fish tanks, some mason bees, and occasional foster kitties. In her spare time, she enjoys being active in her kids’ school and activities (Balancing soccer, Scouts, and is PTO president!), getting out hiking, camping and exploring in the PNW’s beautiful outdoors, cooking and eating all kinds of foods, and singing in her fun local Swiss choir.
